Guv'nor : Team Spirit Essential

Paul Ince was once again a goalscoring hero last night, sealing all three points for Wolves with a thunderbolt 15th minute shot.

The Guv'nor seems to be making a habit of it, after performing the same feat against Luton Town.

But while personal glory is always nice, he knows that there were more crucial factors to the much needed victory.

'The most important thing was that we showed a team spirit and willingness to grind out a result,' said the skipper.

'It was never going to be pretty on that pitch but we stuck in there collectively and showed we've still got the fight and desire to get up the table.

'As for the goal, it was a great knockdown from Corty and I managed to get a decent strike on it.' he added.

Ignoring the fact he badly tweaked his hamstring in the process, yet still elected to marshall his men from the heart of midfield he went on to say :

'I thought I was going to score against Crewe but I never really got any chances.

It may have been The Guv'nor's goal that sealed the point, but he doesn't want to take all the laurels himself.

He is very aware of the contribution the defensive unit made as a whole in securing a much needed win, and is happy to give credit, where credit is due.

'The back four were solid last night, very, very strong, and it was an important result.'

Every game from now on in could almost be considered sudden death.

But if last night is anything to go by, it isn't Glenn Hoddle's men that should be fearing the thumb.
