'Early Bird' Frozen

For the last few days, the subject of 'early bird' ticket prices has been a hot topic wherever Wolves fans have gathered.

After a less than satisfactory campaign so far, any increase in price was sure to be met with derision by fans already unhappy with the current financial implication.

The current number of Season Tickets barely enables the club to break even, and with fans threatening to boycott the scheme, they have reacted positively to appease the masses.

Any existing season ticket holder who chooses to renew before 17:00 on Friday March 17 will pay the same as they did under the same scheme 12 months ago. If they purchased their ticket last summer, they will pay even less.

Speaking to Wolves World CEO Jez Moxey said :

'We acknowledge that this has been a very frustrating season so far - we have not been anywhere near as successful as we were hoping

'We have listened to the fans and believe the price freeze is right for them and the club.'

'Regardless of divisional status, supporters taking advantage of the 'Early Bird' season ticket offer can be assured this is the cheapest way of supporting the club throughout season 2006/07.'

18,371 supporters qualify for the offer, a vast majority of Season Ticket holders in total, and the news will be welcomed by all.

And Jez sees the price freeze as a way for the club to give something back to eth fans who give so much of themselves to the team.

The supporters have stuck with us and we want to show our appreciation - freezing 'Early Bird' season ticket prices is one tangible way of doing just that.'
