Slick Sylvan

Wolverhampton Wanderers hotshot Sylvan Ebanks-Blake finished the season in third place in the 2007/08 Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The former Manchester United youngster, who started the season at Plymouth, ended the campaign on 648 points, eight behind runner-up Kevin Phillips and 39 behind this season's winner Liam Lawrence of Stoke.

Ebanks-Blake netted 23 times to land the division's Golden Boot - 12 of those coming for Mick McCarthy's men - with his best score of the campaign being 43 points, achieved twice against Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday.

Team-mate Wayne Hennessey also enjoyed a fine campaign, the Wales international ending the season in eighth place overall, the division's top-ranked goalkeeper in the Index.

Analysis of all Championship games is taking place throughout the season and so far the top five Wolves players are:

Player, Ranking, Position Ranking, Index Score

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, 3rd, 2nd Ranked Striker, 648
Wayne Hennessey, 8th, Top Ranked Goalkeeper, 585
Kevin Foley, 38th, 10th Ranked Defender, 497
Andy Keogh, 90th, 22nd Ranked Striker, 420
Karl Henry, 95th, 26th Ranked Midfielder, 414

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
