Four clubs now appear to be heading the race to sign McCarthy misfit Freddy Eastwood.
Norwich, Palace, Coventry and newly relegated Derby are all said to be keeping a close eye on the striker who has been told he is surplus to requirements at Molineux.
The 24 year old failed to hold down a regular spot in the Wolves side last season, despite scoring four goals in a ten day patch following his debut.
The Freddy Eastwood tale will be one of those that is still being talked about in pubs years after he has left the club.
Why did McCarthy stop playing him? What went on at the training ground? What was the real reason he left?
Frankly, as long as we get our iniitial investment back, I'm getting past caring.
Yes, he scored 4 times in 10 days, but against relatively poor opposition. Sure, he does have the international credentials to suggest he can score against any oppostion, but if it meant changing the whole balance of the side to accomodate him?
I think all Wolves fans wish him well where ever he ends up. His instant cult status achieved on the back of those four goals will see to that.
Just don't come back to haunt us Freddy, eh?
