'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hey big spender

Mick McCarthy's not doing thing by halves.

If the reported cash plus Elliott bid for Kyle Lafferty is to believed McCarthy looks set to break the £2m barrier for the first time as discussed here last week.

there was a time when that kind of money could get you a lot of player, but those days are long gone.

With sums of £4m for Lafferty, and £3m for Sam Vokes being bandied about, it's just as well that McCarthy now has the backing of a liquid Chairman.

He's going to need Steve Morgan's financial clout, and more than a little Irish charm if he is going to get anywhere near any of this summer's targets.

QPR look to be the close season big guns in the Championship.

Financially strong again, the south London club have the added attraction of a glamorous location to draw in any potential new signings.

Kings Road or Copthorne Road. A tough call for any footballer I'm sure.

Somethings money can't buy though. Like the feeling of unity within McCarthy's young squad which could go a long way to tipping things in Wolves favour when it comes to battling it out for signatures with their rivals.

Good article again mate. News of Sam Vokes signing for Wolves is music to my ears, but 3 million pounds is definately not the amount Wolves have paid for him. I'm going for around 350k, but knowing Wolves, we will never know. Heard alot about this guy but not going to pretend i know everything about him. Clearly a proven goalscrorer with alot of potential, and has got to be better than S. Ward, or S. Elliot. Is this the end to our interest in the K man Kyle? He did well for us, but lets hope so hey! Don't know if we need Lafferty in my opinion. I would much rather see us go in for Kris Commons as he's on a free, and would also like to see a few defenders heading our way early on. Just to stop the whinges, and to give us all clarification that McCarthy acknowledges the Centre back area is a major problem.
