'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Final Word

As more and more rumour mongers link Wolves talented youngsters with just about any and all Premiership clubs, Mick McCarthy has issued a statemnent on the club's official site to try and stem the flow of misinformation.

'There's nobody leaving. Steve and Jez have already said that so you may as well hear it from me. Why would we want to sell anybody? Selling our better players would be really counter-productive, wouldn't it?' he said.

Will this stop Michael Kightly being linked to every club witha cheque book?

Will it stop the attempts to unsettle Wayne Hennessey by ranking him the most valued goalkeeper in British football?

We doubt it.

But maybe it will stop all of the online handwringing that follows the publication of every piece of speculation.

We can all wish I suppose.
