'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Harte given chance to impress

Former Leeds defender Ian Harte will be training with Wolves at Compton for the next two weeks in a bid to earn a contract.

The left back was released by Sunderland last season after making 7 appearances and is currently a free agent.

A 13 season veteran, Harte fits the bill of an experienced head to join the youngsters in the squad, but positionally, this looks an odd move.

There is always a chance he's being used as a stalking horse to get Michael Gray to agree to new terms, but that would seem too Machievelian for Mick McCarthy, and out of character with his normal honest approach.

So the question remains.
