'If It's Football, It's Vital'

So far, so good

So that was the week that was. Or two.

Almost.

Three games into the season, and Wolves are in the second round of the League cup, and sit 4th in the Coca-Cola Championship, a point and six places better than last season.

Oh, and we also have the divisions leading scorer.

Who it's no exageration, has been a revelation.

Having forced his way into Mick McCarthy's starting 11 for the League Cup tie with Accrington, bagging a brace in the process, Chris Iwelumo retained his starting place for the visit of the Owls, and repeated the feat in Wolves emphatic 4-1 victory.

Matt Jarvis echoed big Chris achievement, usurping Stephen Ward , as Iwelumo had done to Andy Keogh, blasting the myth that Mick McCarthy only ever picks 'his favourites'.

The only low point so far, being the loss of Jody Craddock to injury at a time when we prepare to take on four sides tipped to be in the promotion mix this season.

It's way too soon to be counting any chickens, and it won't be until early October at least that a true picture will emerge of our form and potential.

But it's not been a bad start.

So far, so good.
