McCarthy gets just reward

Wolves manager Mick McCarth has been named

oca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month for August.

The award is no les than he deserves for steering Wolves to the top of The Championship on the back of 3 wins and 1 draw.

'Obviously this is great for the club and is testament to the good start we've made this season.

'The team have started very well and I'm delighted if the fans have been going home happy.

'It's an award not just for me but the whole management staff and players but we also know there's a very long way to go.' he told the clubs official site.

THe award is viewed by many as something of a poisoned chalice, usually heralding a slump in form, but wiith 9 goals in the last two home games, it's difficult to se McCarthy's men not picking up where they left off following the International break.

Having said that, there are some tough fixtures coming up, but right now it's more likely to be the opposition looking at the fixture list with apprehension than us.

Consistency has always escaped Wanderers in recent years, perhaps now is the time to kill tow birds with one stone?
