'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cort Praises DJ

Carl Cort knows who he has tothank for resurrectiong his injury plagued career.

Former Wolves boss Dave Jones.

The 28-year-old striker was languishing in teh Newcastle reserves and the treatment room when DJ made a
£2million swoop for him in January, 2004.

Many thought the move a complete folly, but a return of 31 goals from 81 appearances tends to indicate otherwise.

'It was a difficult time for me when Wolves came in and Dave showed a lot of trust and faith in me,' said Carl, talking to the Birmingham Post.

'And all credit to him for what he's done at Cardiff - they've done really well and have surprised a lot of people this season.'

With the two sides sitting side by side in the Championship, both fighting for 6th place, the match needs no extra edge.

And having an edge is one thing Corty is sure DJ will try to exploit when his team of Bluebirds face up to Wolves. But he is equally sure theteam won't let that happen.

'I think Dave will be very much up for it and trying to get one over on us on Saturday. He's obviously going to know a lot about us and I'm sure will be doing his best to stop our key players playing.

'He knows about me as well and I'm sure will be telling his centre halves all my strengths and weaknesses! But I'm confident that we've still got more than enough about as a team to win the game.'
