'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Injury worries eased

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy was given a double boost this week, by a double duo.

Michael Kightly, perhaps his most influential player looks set to get straight back into action against Coventry having tweaked a hamstring in the loss to reading, and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake has recovered sufficiently from a knee injury picked up in the same game to join the England U21 squad.

And encouragingly both Mark Davies and Matt Murray have both come through a friendly with Blackburn unscathed, earning both valuable match minutes in the process.

Since bursting ionto the first team as a teenager Sparky has been hailed as the next big thing at Molineux.

But the warnings that should have been heeded from the career of Kieron Dyer were ignored, and after a glorious start to his young career, has spent the majority of the rest in the treatment room, shin splints being the latest ailment in a long list.

Pre season, he looked the fittest we've ever seen him, and the swagger that appeared following the praise heaped on him by Glenn Hoddle seemed to have vanished, hopefully now for good.

And the news that Matt Murray is approaching a stage where he can challenge Wayne Hennessey couldn't have come at a better time for Mick McCarthy or the fans.

It may not be that much longer before the sound of 'England's Number One' reverberates around Molineux again as another career blighted by injury starts to gain momentum once more.
