'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chateau Neuf

Some weeks are better than others. This week was better than most.

A hard fought win at Vicarage Road, followed by an all expenses birthday trip up to the Motherland midweek courtesy of the missus to watch the lads grind out a 2-1 win against Swansea, followed by said girlfriend finding one of only five pubs in London showing the Cardiff match, and another hard earned three points in the bag.

Tidy, as the welsh might say.

In truth, none of the performances were what you'd call top notch.

Each had it's moments, but it's fair to say none was a team firing on all cylinders.

But with teams around us doing the same, with the difference being they dropped valuable points, it's hard not to be pleased.

When the season took off in the magnificent manner it did, we said a clearer indication of our promotion aspirations would be to look at the table mid October.

Well it's November now, and we're still top of the pile.

The rest of this month now takes on a massive significance.

Five matches to come, three against promotion contenders, one of those against the team currently in second place.

If ever there was a need for the team to rekindle the flame that was lit at the start of the season it's now.
