Latics turn down bids

Oldham manager Simon Corney has coonfirmed several clubs have made enquiries regarding highly thught of youngster Chris Taylor, with Wolves though to be one of them.

'There has been some interest in Chris but the numbers people are asking us to sell at do not match our valuations,' Corney told the club's website.

Taylor has made 28 appearances for Oldham scoring 8 times from midfield, an area Mick McCarthy is known to be looking at strengthening.

Latest reports suggest McCarthy is preparing a seven figure bid to test Oldham's resolve, an extraordinary sum in terms of his usual spending.

But with Wednesday and Reading both tracking the youngster he may be forced to hit the million mark a rareity during his reign at Molineux to capture the classy left winger.
