'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All quiet on the transfer front

With big spending Manchester City making all the headlines, and most other clubs maintaining a dignified silence on their transfer deals, some people seem to be getting worried that Wolves are with the latter.

This has become something of a puzzle to us here.

With a club policy of undisclosed fees and negotiations more secret than most Governments this should come as no surprise.

What 'would' be a surprise, is if no-one comes in during whats left of the transfer window, in one form or another.

What would seem most likely at the moment are loan deals.

Mick McCarthy isn't looking for squad players, he wants, and needs, players that can come in and make an instant impact, and there aren't too many of those on the open market.

January purchases are usually of the top dollar variety with clubs paying a premium in a sellers market, as Wolves have found out before.

So for the moment, silence is golden.

And to be honest, we prefer it that way.
