While debates on the quality of Nigel Quashie's loan signing rage on, manager Mick McCarthy has admitted his surprise at being able to land the 30 year old former Scotland arrival.
And confessed that this isn't the first time he's tried to sign him.
'Nigel is an excellent addition to the squad,' he told the clubs official site.
'I'm surprised we've been able to get him to be honest, and I've also tried to sign him in the past.
'He's got some valuable experience and is also a very good player.'
History should have taught all of us Wolves fans that McCarthy usually knows what he's doing in the transfer market.
Few of his signings have failed, and of those deemed somewhat less than succesful, both Darren Potter and Stephen Elliott seem to be thriving since leaving the club.
The arguments will continue, long into the night, and will do so until he finally pulls on a Wolves shirt in anger.
Which is the right time to asess his true value to the promotion challenge.
And not a minute before.
