Brass in pocket

So Mark Davies has gone.

Good luck, and all that.

To some it will be seen as a heinous crime against everything that is Wolves, to others it will be a sad farewell that they hoped never to have seen.

The bottom line is that his sale has generated a probable 7 figure sum that has given mager Mick McCarthy a little more brass in his pocket to burn.

But where to spend it?

On an over inflated fee for Marvin Elliott? Or any of the other players sides will be reluctant to release unless it's because of an offer they can't refuse?

Or a surplus to requirements Premiership youngster looking to kickstart their career with a promotion hopeful?

There is always the possibility that McCarthy's net may be being flung further afield than the domestic shores, hopefully with a little more success than has been achieved in recent years.

One thing would seem to be true.

If we do make another signing this month, it will be a player capable of competing not only at this level, but also the next, which could make for a very interesting few days to come.
