Berra deal off

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has put an end to speculation surrounding theproposed transfer of Hearts captain Christophe Berra.

And in doing so took a swipe at the way the Jambo's have conducted themselves.

Speaking to the clubs official site he said

'We've bid for Berra but as I said the other night didn't know anything until it was supposedly announced that it had been turned down - we didn't hear that!

'I'm not sure why it was made public maybe it's one of those situations where they want someone to pay more and alert other clubs to it.

'But if they don't want to do it then fine, we move on.'

Redtop rumours are suggesting Wolves will now turn their attenton to West Ham's Calum Davenport.

He's in contract talks today. Didn't think the deal was off, to be honest.
