'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cort : Unacceptable

Carl Cort has given his assesment of his teams performance today. And he isn't looking to hide from the days bare facts.

The buck stops with the players.

Speaking to the clubs official site he said

Words can't explain what happened today, we have only got ourselves to blame

'I admit the referee seemed to be against us, and the fans got a little bit edgy but it's the people out on the pitch who really make the difference and so we have to look within.'

'This result should never have happened. On paper you'd look and think that we have got the better side and we were the home team but this season it seems we don't seem to play so well at home.

'We clawed ourselves back in it after half-time and we were pushing hard for quite a while but they went up the other end and scored and that killed us off.

'Goals always come about as a result of an error and they capitalised when we made mistakes today. At 3-1 it was game over with very little time left, but we have to try to pick ourselves up to get ready for next weekend's game.

'I think it will take a lot of lift the players after this result but there is still a lot to play for so we have to keep our heads up.'

After two appearances from the subs' bench in as many matches Carl admits it felt good to find the net this afternoon.

'It was good to come on and get a goal and you hope that it might work in your favour to push your way back into the team, but I can only wait and see,' he said.

'It is disappointing to be out of the side but all I can do is work hard in training and when I get a chance in matches.'
