'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tonight's The Night

Wolves fans everywhere will have their eyes on tonights football scores.

ut whilst most neutral fans will be glued to the Champions League quarter-finals, Wanderers supporters have a far more important fixture to monitor.

Preston North End vs Crewe Alexander.

A few weeks ago, the result would have been condidererd a foregone conclusion, but following a dip in form, Preston have only managed one win in their last seven.

Which makes Wolves four wins, two draws, and one loss look slightly better than fans feel about it after Saturdays loss.

That run has enabled Wolves to close the gap with North End to two points, with Preston playing their one game in hand tonight.

This seasons corresponding fixture ended 2-0 to Preston, but after Crewe demolished Coventry 4-1 at the weekend, the outcome tonight is far from a foregone conclusion.

reston manager Billy Davies has said:

“We have to grab this opportunity with both hands. It’s our game in hand and, if we win, it will take us away from the pack.”

Every Wolves fan will be cheering Crewe on as the temperature starts to rise in the Preston kitchen.

A win for North End and its a long way back for Wanderers to capture the elusive 4th play off place.

A win for Crewe and Wolves visit to Deepdale in 3 weeks could take on monumental proportions.

Can Preston North End shake their end of season jitters? Or will Crewe turn up the heat and make every Wolves fan smile?

Kick off is at 19.45
