'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Edwards : Time For Action

Rob Edwards was thrust into the limelight this week when following Gabor Gyepes cruciate knee injury that has ruled him out for the rest of the season, Glenn Hoddle remarked that Rob could be his defenive saviour.

The versatile Wales international, signed from Ason Villa on a three year contract for a bargain £225,000 by Dave Jones has at times played centreback, right back, and right wingback this term, earning him the tag, Mr Flexible.

And that suits Rob just fine. As long as he is in the side, he doent mind where he plays.

'I don't mind where I play and if it's in the middle I'll just try and play well,' he said to The Birmingham Post

'I've partnered Joleon several times earlier in the season and also more recently as well and we kept some clean sheets so that's a positive.

'We've worked a bit on how Plymouth might play if it's direct but that happens a lot in this league anyway.

'It might happen more than usual tomorrow but we've got to stand tall and be strong and aim for the clean sheet which obviously gives us a much better chance of winning the game.

'We had a disappointing performance and result against Sheffield Wednesday last week but we need to respond with three points probably more now than we have all season.'
