Wolves Boss Glenn Hoddle has spoken out over the clubs 10 years of underachievment.
Some may look at this as merely searching for excuses, but in an honest interview, Hoddle maintains that what the fans are seeing now is only an extension of the clubs underachievment since Sir Jack Hayward first ploughed his millions into the club.
Speaking to the E & S he said :
'Saturday's result is something that's happened for 10 years here. It's not something new,'
'At the beginning of the season, we were getting close to beating this problem - we won four on the bounce at home and I thought there was a chance to push on. But we haven't done that.' adding
'But it's not a new pattern - it's not something that's appeared from nowhere. It's been like this for more than 10 years and we've got to deal with that and get through it.'
Whilst those on the terraces are left feeling that their cause is lost, Hoddle points out that whilst there is still an outside chance, he is prepared to fight on.
And is looking for a positive reaction from tha fans when they turn up to watch his side take on Coventry City.
'We've got three home games left and we've got to get maximum points from them,' added Hoddle.
'We've got to put teams to the sword here which we haven't done. home crowd can help any home team - that's why it's always hard to win away games. It's always great to have a passionate home crowd to help you.'
'We've got three games here and they can have a major influence on how results go. We've bounced back before and we will do again and I still say it will go to that last day.'
Can Wanderers fans, still feeling so badly let down after the weekends shambolic result lift themselves, and in turn lift the team?
Or will Glenn Hoddle be left, as the last man not on the field at Molineux fighting for promotion?
