Vital Wolves: Henry signs new deal

'Like all of the players, he has earned the right to play in the top division and deserves his chance.' - Mick McCarthy

WOLVES have agreed a new 4 year deal with midfielder Karl Henry.

Henry was an integral part of Wolves run to lift the Championship, only missing 3 games throughout the league campaign.

McCarthy told the club's website: 'Like all of the players, he has earned the right to play in the top division and deserves his chance.'

Team mate Chris Iwelumo wants Henry to on the score sheet more frequently in the future: "If there`s one thing he maybe needs to improve - and I`ve said this to his face - it`s in chipping in with a few goals because he`s certainly more than capable of that" said Iwelumo to the Express and Star.

Vital Wolves Comment: Well deserved contract extension and shows the belief by the club that Henry will make the step up to perform week in week out in the Premier League.

Well deserved. Let us hope he can succesfully make the step up for us next season. If Keith Andrews can there is no reason why Karl cannot as well.
