Birmingham City set to beat Wolves to Oguchi Onyewu signing - Various

ONYEWU, the 27-year-old United States international defender had a short loan spell with Newcastle in 2007.

Standing at 6 ft 4 in he currently plays for Belgian club Standard Liège.

Wolves according to various reports on the internet suggest, we've made a £3million bid. However Birmingham remain the favourites to sign him.

Bolton's 28-year-old Nigerian defender Danny Shittu only joined the club last season on a 3 year deal from Watford.

The fee less than a year ago was £2million with various add ons.

However the Daily Mirror has today revealed that he will be leaving the Reebok, with Wolves or Birmingham possible destinations.
