Vital Wolves: Ikeme is fit and ready

'He knows that I'll be challenging him for the jersey once the new season begins.' - Carl Ikeme

WOLVES shot stopper Carl Ikeme has recovered from the back injury that kept him on the sidelines throughout the Championship end of season run in.

The 22 year old enjoyed a 2 month spell towards the end of last year as first choice Keeper, until injury ended his run.

With the new season approaching Ikeme sounds confident that he will once again challenge Wayne Hennessey for the number one spot.

'I suppose it's a bit annoying to be fit again now that the season is over but at least I can ease myself back into training without trying to do too much, too soon.' Ikeme told the official site.

'While I've been injured I have given Wayne my support and I think he's done really well. But he knows that I'll be challenging him for the jersey once the new season begins.'

Vital Wolves Comment: We want to hear your views on this one!

Perhaps a loan spell might suit Carl in his development this season? Or will he push Hennessey for the jersey this season?

Or will neither of them make the starting line up with Wolves reportedly linked with bringing in a new Goalkeeper?
