ONYEWU, the 27-year-old United States international defender had a short loan spell with Newcastle in 2007.

Standing at 6 ft 4 in he currently plays for Belgian club Standard Liège.

Wolves according to various reports on the internet suggested that we've made an offer of around £3million, but that interest has now reportedly finished.

Vital Wolves Comment: Reading more into the story, could this suggest that another target could be close to completion? We certainly hope so!
