BLACKBURN ROVERS have joined the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Nicky Butt according to the Sun.

As previously covered on Vital Wolves, we are also interested in signing the former Manchester United player and for once, the competition doesn't come in the form of Birmingham and this time comes from Blackburn.

Vital Wolves Comment: We still think Nicky Butt would be a fantastic signing, a wealth of experience in the centre of the park would help Wolves in their returning season to the Premier League.

Competition for an experienced midfielder was to be expected, will an established Premier League side prove more tempting? Or the challenge of keeping a newly promoted side up sound more appealing?

Yes we agree, it's down to money!

Butt would be a good signing, great experience, good player although a little on the old side!
