CRYSTAL PALACE gaffer Neil Warnock has played down moves for Chris Iwelumo according to the newspaper South London Press.

Iwelumo thumped in 15 goals between August and November last season, but only found the net once during the remainder of the season.

With Wolves linked to Fortune and Doyle, other clubs are beginning to sniff around to see if Iwelumo is available, but Warnock has played down making a move to take him to Crystal Palace.

"The promoted clubs aren`t going to want to lose any of their players at this stage before the season starts, and those lads in their squads are going to want a crack at Premier League football, so I can`t see anything happening there," Warnock told the local rag.

Vital Wolves Comment: He was in unbelievable scoring form in the early part of last season.

At 30 years of age, this will be his last pop at the big league. Surely we should keep hold of him?
