Vital Wolves: May lose a Friend

Wolves may ease their logjam of left-backs by allowing George Friend to leave on loan - Express & Star

WOLVES defender George Friend could be on his way out of Molineux on loan, in search for first team football according to the Express & Star.

The 21-year-old was recently quoted as saying how excited he was about Wolves travelling to White Hart Lane, due to his Mum supporting Spurs.

I then received some criticism, for saying that the only way he will be going to White Hart Lane, was if he was going to buy a ticket.

Now I understand why some would take offence, Friend does have potential, he's young and could well have a career ahead of him down the line with Wolves.

I simply just tried to make a joke, which obviously back-fired!

But (he says smugly) I do appear to have been proved right, with Friend lining up a loan move to the Championship.

"If I`m not playing next year, then it has been suggested I could go out on loan, preferably to a Championship club.' Friend told the Express & Star.

"But hopefully I can get myself established in the team. If I really push, then maybe I`ll make the England under-21 squad.

"I am really just trying to see how far I can go."

Vital Wolves Comment: I'm a big fan of the loan system. Much more worthwhile then any reserves league, which is my pet hate.

Get him out on loan, with a recall option, if he impresses and we need a gap filled, call him back and see if he is ready.
