WOLVES gaffer Mick McCarthy was delighted that his efforts in stalking Andrew Surman for the past three years has finally come off.

'I'm delighted. I think that we have signed an exceptionally, talented young player.' McCarthy told the official site.

'I was aware of him when I first came here to Wolves three years ago. I marked him down and have followed and tracked him and now we have signed him.'

Mick also revealed that Surman isn't just a central player and can also play left midfield and left back.

'He can play wide left or in a centrally left-sided position and he's played at left-back although I don't think he would particularly want to play there.'

Vital Wolves Comment: Versatility is good and if he can fill in down the left, that is going to be useful.
