'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jez : No Knee-Jerk Reaction

Wolves fans will open their programmes today to find their much maligned CEO reflecting not only on this current campaign, but across the the last decade of under achievment as well.

We have been close but we may as well have been 21st.' he says, echoing bar room talk from all across the West Midlands heartland.

'There will be no rash decisions. It is easy to sack someone but not easy to find a suitable replacement. The club is entering a new phase of its evolution. I always said we would have a vastly different playing staff for next season.'

“When you look at the number of clubs promoted and the amounts invested — or not — then there’s no reason why with a change in our finances we can’t compete (for promotion)." he says.

And in a swipe at previous encumbents of the Molineux hotseat, he leaves no-one in any doubt that he feels the money Wolves have spent over the last 10 years has failed produce the promised return on investment.

'With the exception of the 2002-03 season when we bought promotion, the financial advantage has not worked in our favour. I believe we still can have success even though some difficult decisions have to be made.”
