WOLVES striker Sam Vokes has denied suggestions that he will have to leave Molineux on loan in search of first team football.

The Welsh international only started 4 times for Wolves last season in the Championship, but that hasn't deterred him from wanting to make an impact in the Premier League this season. 'I am not looking at that, not at all.' Vokes told the Birmingham Post.

"I`ve come back here pre-season and my focus is on playing here and whatever happens.

"Hopefully I`ll get my chance here at Wolves in the Premier League. "

Vital Wolves Comment: When Vokes scored on his debut just a few seconds after coming on as sub, I thought we had found something special. It was one hell of an impact.

A season on and he continued as an impact sub in the Championship coming on from the bench 32 times!

Do you think the Premier League will come a season too soon for Vokes and a loan spell could be an option? Or will he continue to make an impact for Wolves?

Vokes deserved more of a chance last season, he was better than Iwelumo and Keogh at times. I think we should see how we are doing in by Christmas and if Doyle and Ebanks are doing the job then let him out on loan until next season so atleast he can get some experience. I think he could definitely be a fantastic striker for the Wolves but could do with a bit more experience at somewhere like Reading now they have lost Doyle...
