CHELSEA look set to allow Michael Mancienne to re-join Wolves according to various reports on the internet.

Mick McCarthy is known to be a big fan of the Chelsea defender who has come through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge and has had to remain patient, while the revolving door at the London club welcomes their latest manager Carlo Ancelotti.

"Michael has never left our thinking but I don`t think Chelsea will allow him to leave on a permanent basis. Chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express & Star.

"We`ve not necessarily finished our business. We haven`t used a loan yet so they are available to us. We may be able to use one of these but we may need to wait for a Premier League club to say, 'yes, you can have him`.

"But that might not be until towards the end of the transfer window."

It is believed a deal in principle could be agreed sooner than that, but the paper work will not be completed until August.

Vital Wolves Comment: This move is one we all expected and whilst rumour of Richard Dunne has been a hot topic of conversation on our forum. The signing of Mancienne will be a welcome addition, be it on loan or permanent.

He's a superb prospect. You fellows will know all about him by now, anyway.

We know and we need him on loan next season! When he played for us last season he did so well that he was catapulted to the fringes of the England team. Judging by his recent poorish performances with the U-21`s he really needs to be playing regularly, which he would for us!

Last season when we had Mancienne on loan him and Stearman at the back were another class. They're both young and hungry and I think their combination is much better than any of our other centre backs. Whether we get him on loan or buy him this is great news! There's no point in sitting on the bench at Chelsea when you could play week in week out for the old gold and black!
