SAM Vokes looks set to be stronger than ever in his bid to break into the Wolves side.
Vokes made just four starts last season and was used as an impact sub by Mick McCarthy, but with Chris Iwelumo set to miss the start of the season. This could be Vokes chance to step up and prove himself.
'This is probably the hardest pre-season I've had.' Vokes told the official site.
'Last year was hard because I was coming from a lower level so it was a bigger step up and I had to get used to the level.
'But I feel more fitter and stronger coming back this year so that's good.'
