Vital Wolves: Battle for number 1

Wolves are certainly ensuring that three is not a crowd when it comes to the battle for the custodian's position - official site

ONE position that Wolves certainly have strength in depth is in net.

American Marcus Hahnemann joins the ranks and is set to battle with Wayne Hennessey and Carl Ikeme for the number one jersey.

The battle is set to become a four way chase during the season when Matt Murray is set to be back in contention.

'Marcus is a great signing for us because I think we needed some good experience to complement the group of goalkeepers we've already got,' goalkeeping coach Pat Mountain told the official site.

'At the moment we've got three good keepers vying for the number one spot and when Matty is fit we'll have four.

'Wayne finished the season really well but we're going into the season with three very good goalkeepers fighting for one position which is a really healthy situation.'
