WOLVES are not interested in mercenaries. End of.
"We don`t want the sort of mercenary type and we all know who they are - they have a season or two here and a season or two there.' Wolves chairman Steve Morgan said to the Express & Star.
"They`ve had more clubs than I`ve had hot dinners. We don`t want that type of player - we want the players who want to come to play for Wolverhampton Wanderers and they will definitely blend into the rest of the team and become one of us."
The Express & Star have linked Morgan's comments to a couple of rumours that have recently gone around Molineux.
Namely Portsmouth's Sol Campbell, Newcastle's Nicky Butt and Kevin Nolan. Which seems odd as Morgan can't eat too many hot dinners when Campbell hasn't switched clubs for 3 years and has only played for 3 clubs during his career.
Nicky Butt is the same, three career clubs and has been at Newcastle for five years.
Kevin Nolan two clubs, only moving from Bolton to Newcastle last season after 10 years at the Reebok.
Vital Wolves Comment: Can't argue with any of Morgan's comments, even if the Express & Stars link is slightly skew-whiff!
