Vital Wolves: McCarthy eyes up Celtic move

Vital Wolves: McCarthy eyes up Celtic move

Wolves are considering a move for Celtic defender Stephen McManus - Sunday Mercury

CELTIC defender Stephen McManus could be set to join former teammate Bobo Balde at Molineux if the duo both agree terms with Wolves.

Balde is already on trial with Wolves and has so far impressed McCarthy. 'I thought Bobo got better in the game, he missed a few headers early on but then started to win things and looked like a big and strong centre back.' McCarthy told WOW after the win at Walsall yesterday night.

Whether there is a spot open for both or if they are competing for the same contract remains to be seen, but McManus could prove an excellent purchase, if the rumour which has also appeared in the Daily Mail is true.

The 26-year-old defender has played over 150 games for Celtic and is a regular in the Scotland side and was recently made captain.

Vital Wolves Comment: No fee was mentioned, but this would be a fantastic signings for Mick.

The defence has been crying out for experience and this man has it, but with youth on his side!
