Vital Wolves: Doyle Injury Blow

Kevin Doyle is in danger of missing Wolves` Premier League return next month after having a hernia operation - Express & Star.

WOLVES record signing Kevin Doyle will this week fly out to Germany for an operation on his hernia.

The latest surgical procedures mean he could be out for as little as two weeks and could be back ready for the start of the season.

"He`ll get his rehab and, while he`ll be behind everyone else, he`s a fit guy who puts a good shift in. He`d been doing alright before the injury.' McCarthy told the Express & Star.

"We`ve got great physio and fitness staff in Steve Kemp and Tony Daley and their teams so that doesn`t worry me. We just need to get him right which he will be in a couple of weeks."

Vital Wolves Comment: Big blow for Wolves, record signing for around £6.5 million. We were all looking forward to seeing him line up alongside Sylvan Ebanks-Blake from the start of the new Premier League season and while there is a chance he could be ready in time. I`d much rather we waited and got him right before throwing him into action.

With Chris Iwelumo also set to miss out the first games of the season, will McCarthy make another move in the transfer market, or will Andy Keogh and Sam Vokes be enough?
