Serbian wants to avoid South Africa trip

Serbian wants to avoid South Africa trip

Wolves` Serbian playmaker Nenad Milijas is hopeful of being spared a gruelling trip to South Africa three days before his Premier League debut - Express & Star

WOLVES take on West Ham on the first day of the Premier League season just days after the majority of the squad have been on International duty. While Wales, Ireland and Scotland are either at home or have short European trips, Serbia have a friendly in South Africa!

A trip that Milijas would prefer to avoid if possible and has already told his national team boss that he would prefer to skip the game. "I`ve talked with the gaffer and he says he`ll call Raddy Antic (Serbia coach) to talk with them so I can stay here," said Milijas to the Express & Star.

"He (boss Mick McCarthy) wants me to stay here with the team because if not, I`ll lose too much training - seven days of pre-season.

"At the moment, I think my national coach will allow this, but I don`t know yet. I want to be here - I want to play and I will do everything I can to play that game (West Ham) because I`m going to love to play that one."

Vital Wolves Comment: Didn`t think we would manage it, but we have managed to find something more pointless than a pre-season friendly and that is an International pre-season friendly!
