Vital Wolves: Looking for confidence

Mick McCarthy would like to get points on the board tonight at Wigan, he doesn't think it is vital, but it would be nice.

Apparently the earlier you pick up results the more confident you will be going into the upcoming matches.

Sounds a good philosophy to fire up the troops to take the points tonight at Wigan? A passionate team talk by Mick? Nah, it's not that Vital as there will be another 36 games to play.

The words of a manager playing down the hopes and expectations of his team to the fans and media? Trying to ease the pressure on his men?

Or Mick McCarthy sounding downbeat about our chances? You decide:

'The earlier you get something on the board the better that is for sure,' McCarthy told the The Telegraph. 'I would really like that at Wigan, but I am not going to start saying it is vital because there are 37 games to play. It is how many points you end up with. The earlier you get them it gives you confidence to get more.'

Vital Wolves Comment: The bookies have us as quite large outsiders for tonights game. Betfair have us as 5/1 to take the three points.

With your injuries we will probably be just too strong for you, but I am not over confident, safe journey up and back, but miserable time at the DW please ;)
