Vital Wolves: McCarthy on Wigan win

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is happy this morning following a 1-0 win over Wigan.

Andy Keogh's header proved enough to claim the points as Wolves battled hard to hold on to the win.

'It was a mature performance and having got the lead I would hardly say we were hanging on.' McCarthy told the BBC.

Wolves probably should have had a penalty after an hour when Keogh was brought down in the box. The ref decided it was a dive and booked Keogh. McCarthy went on to add: 'We have had to defend the lead for a long time but we still have managed to create chances.'

'We had disappointment on Saturday despite playing well so it feels pretty good at the minute to get an away win.'

Vital Wolves Comment: We were big outside favourites to take the win against Wigan last night.

Odds of 6/1 were available on Wolves claiming the three points.

Those odds are doubled for this Saturday's game against Manchester City, with odds of 12/1 available with Betfair.
