Wolves: Edwards praises magnificent performance

Dave Edwards was happy that the squads belief that we can pick up results at this level was matched by the performance against Wigan last night.

Keogh will take the headlines picking up the winning goal, but it was a good team performance that battled for the result.

'We're missing players including our top goalscorer and our Player of the Year and we still go to Wigan and put on a magnificent performance.' Edwards told Wolves Official Website.

Looking ahead to the weekend, it was even more crucial to get something on the board with Manchester City and their new squad of top heavy strikers up next: 'It was so vital to get three points because if we'd been going to Manchester City with nothing we might have started to wonder where our points were going to come from.'

Despite Man City being next in line, Edwards, for now is just happy to have chalked up the sides first win of the season: 'It's a great win - we've all got the belief we can do it but a result like this just backs it up.'

Vital Wolves Comment: As I've already confessed, I didn't fancy us to get much from the Wigan game. Their result against Aston Villa made me rather nervous, so to go and pick up the result at their place is a fantastic lift following the disappointment of the opening day defeat to West Ham.

It was a quality header, we also rattled the woodwork and should have had a penalty. Go back to your lego stadium and be quiet.
