Vital Wolves: Transfer Rumours

A couple of rumours appear to continue to be doing the rounds, with Wolves eyes on Reading, Manchester City and Cardiff.

The first is the claim that we have missed out on Manchester City striker Kelvin Etuhu.

According to reports in the ever reliable tribalfootball, McCarthy wanted to bring him to Molineux on loan but following a hitch according to Cardiff manager Dave Jones, we missed out and he has joined Cardiff instead.

The other target could still be on the table with a move for Reading midfielder James Harper still ongoing.

Vital Wolves Comment: We think that if we wanted Etuhu we would have got him. It is more beneficial to both Man City and the young lad to be playing in the Premier League instead of the Championship, so the so called hitch was probably us having second thoughts.

Moving on to the Harper rumour and this one came and went before coming back around again, I think this one could well be wrapped up before the transfer window closes.

As I heard it, Wolves wanted to include a clause allowing them to buy Etuhu at the end of the season if you stayed in the Prem. Man City weren't keen and got him to sign a new contract, thus we (cardiff) stepped in ahead of Wolves (Pompey were interested too)
