Palace withdraw Vokes interest

Crystal Palace have ended their interest in taking Sam Vokes on loan.

Coventry, Doncaster, Swansea, Derby, Newcastle and Middlesbrough however all appear to remain interested.

Reports suggest that Coventry are desperate to sign the striker, however Palace have ended their interest, with Warnock claiming that both Boro and Newcastle have already agreed a loan fee with Wolves.

"We enquired about Vokes but there is a substantial loan fee involved which I think Middlesbrough and Newcastle have both agreed to.' Warnock told the South London Press.

The level of interest in Vokes's availability really shows how highly rated the young lad is, especially at Championship level.

I know we have brought in new strikers since promotion, but I really did think we would get to see more of him in the Premier League this season.

But once Doyle and Ebanks-Blake are fully fit and if McCarthy thinks otherwise, then a loan move is far better for his development than training and not playing.

Warnock is one person in football who I really don't like. Can't quite put my finger on it...
