Cardiff in for Vokes

Cardiff City have become the latest club to show an interest in Sam Vokes. Crystal Palace, Coventry, Doncaster, Swansea, Derby, Newcastle and Middlesbrough are already in line to snap up the striker, once he becomes available.

However it is unlikely Vokes will be heading off to Palace as they have already stated that they cannot agree a loan fee with us.

"As always, we`re not going to be talking about financial details.'

"But Sam`s future is likely to be sorted out within the next few days." Chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express & Star a few days ago.

With the green light seemingly being close for Vokes to leave, Cardiff have joined the race, meaning almost a third of the Championship have been linked with a loan move for Vokes in recent weeks.

Rumour of their interest was around before the collapsed deal to Derby on transfer deadline day, but recently their trail had run cold, but not any more.

Vital Wolves Comment: A Sam Vokes-Michael Chopra partnership in the Championship would surely be a force at the top half of the table?
