'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Christophe Berra takes the praise

Wolves defender Christophe Berra was picked out for a special mention by Wayne Hennessey and Mick McCarthy following his performance against Fulham.

Berra's been on the receiving end of some negative comments, even on the Vital Wolves forum.

But just like all supporters, we'll still try to take the credit, just like Vital Wolves newbie mike1952 who wrote:

'Berra seemed to have an excellent game today, probably down to me for saying I did not think much of him !'

But with no offence meant to Mike, Berra will probably be more pleased with the comments from his team-mate and manager:

'Christophe was brilliant, he was like a brick wall. He's taken some bangs but he was fantastic today and he deserved to get the Man of the Match award. He even had a hand in Doyler's goal.' Wayne Hennessey told Wolves Official Website.

'I think you can justifiably pick him out on today's performance. We can't win Premiership games with one player, there's no question about that, but I thought he was outstanding and in the last 10 minutes when balls were coming into our box I thought he handled that particularly well.' McCarthy told Sky Sports.

While Berra himself added: 'I was happy with my performance but it's not just down to me it's a team performance, I think out there was 11 players that gave their all, everyone put a great shift in and it's a great victory for us.'

Vital Wolves Comment: Good to see him getting the praise for a decent performance. He's had his critics, but praise is due.
