Owen to start against Wolves

We might have been expecting a weaker Manchester United side to be named for our Carling Cup match.

But unfortunately all that means is instead of Wayne Rooney, we get Michael Owen!

Owen scored a injury time winner against Manchester City over the weekend, something that usually I wouldn't be too fussed about. But after City's behaviour recently I did have to have a little chuckle.

That said, we now face them with confidence and despite Sir Alex Ferguson being ready to run the changes, expect to still see a strong side.

Gary Neville, Michael Carrick, Darron Gibson, Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda are likely to be involved, while Wes Brown should take a central defensive role alongside Jonny Evans with Tomasz Kuszczak in net.

Expect Mick McCarthy to make a few changes from the win over Fulham, but also expect him to play his cards a little closer to his chest.

Vital Wolves Comment: I still fancy us to pull off an upset! Not enough to put any money on it, but a sneaky feeling we could get a result.
