'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We showed them to much respect

Michael Kightly has slammed the side for paying Manchester United to much credit.

The chance to cause an upset was there for the taking. So many changes from United and then to play with 10 men for an hour.

We really should have took more from that opportunity. "Manchester United are probably the best team in the world, but we showed them too much respect and it was disappointing," said Kightly to the Express & Star.

He went on to add: "After they went down to 10 men, we should have taken the game to them more. We had a few chances and are disappointed we didn`t take them. Then they showed their quality and scored.'

However that game is now done and dusted and we have to look forward to the bread and butter of the league.

After all that is what matters this season, survival in the Premier League and our start to the season, which has seen its ups and downs has so far been reasonable. "We`re a Premier League side who deserve to be here and need to show that mentality every game." Kightly added.
