'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Gobern Eyes Wolves Spot

ewis Gobern amy not be a well known name outside of Wolverhampton. Aoart from in the town of Bury that is.

While his fellow Molineux youngsters Daniel Jones and Mark Davies have been busy impressing Glenn Hoddle, Lewis has been diligently plying his trade in the second division with The Shakers, away from the glare of the Wolverhampton limelight, and he hasn't been wasting hiss time.

After joining the Leage Two side in March, on loan for the rest of the season, Lewis has played a part in most of their fixtures, including starting their last 5 league games, and has drawn rave reviews from all that have witnessed them.

'I've played most games for Bury since I joined them and I've been given three Man of the Match awards,' Lewis told the clubs official site

'The lads up there have been great and it's been easy to settle in.

'They get a fairly small crowd up at Gigg Lane but the fans are very vocal. You just get on with the game and I've been enjoying it.

'I have played on the right of midfield in most of the games up there, I played on the left for one game, and it's proving to be a great experience.'

Just like defender Keith Lowe, Lewis Gobern is is a Wanderer through and through. And there is one day last year that he will treasure for the rest of his life.

'It was a dream come true to get my debut at Molineux against Norwich in November and I'd love to get another chance to show what I can do in the future.

'I'd now love to push on next year and hopefully get a run in the first team here at Wolves.'

With youngsters like Lewis standing just outside the footlights, Wolves immediate future may not be as bleak as some would have you believe.

And if he can maintain his impressive progress, come the end of next season, maybe a few more people in football will know his name.
