With the Premier League now under way, Vital Wolves will be bringing you a new feature we have entitled The Vital Wolves Mauling.
Basically it's 10 questions with an editor from the Vital website of our next opponents (clever huh?)
So this week it's Rug from Vital Pompey!
1. What do you make of Wolves, how do you think they have faired back in the Premier League?
I have to be honest I have barely watched MOTD this season, in fact for the majority of last season - even though you were not in the premier league - and as I have also watched little live football on the box I have not really kept up with many clubs!
So, I only know what I have seen from results, and the little bit I actually did see on MOTD2 on Sunday, where I thought you looked ok to be fair.
2. Which Wolves player would you like in your team?
Living just outside of Plymouth these days I used to hear a fair amount about Sylvain Ebanks- Blake and as we need an out-and-out goalscorer I do not think I would think twice about taking him.
3. Ultimately do you think Wolves will avoid the drop?
It will be tough as you are going to be one of up to half a dozen fighting relegation this season. I guess a lot depends on how you are doing come January, if you are not doing too bad then I would think your chairman would make a little more money available if he thought it would help?
In all honesty though if you going down meant we did not then I have to admit I would not really care, sorry...
4. What are your thoughts on how your season has gone so far?
Clearly by looking at the league table you can see it has not gone that well - they say the league table does not lie, but in a way I still think it does at this point as for us not to have anything on the board as yet it is a bit unjust, and that is a blinkered view aside, honest!
When all is said and done when you are doing your pre-season during the season it does not help does it, we have virtually a whole new squad let alone side, but they are starting to gel into a decent looking side.
5. What do you think will happen in your game against Wolves?
It will be a tough game; we desperately need some goals - something we have been short of this season. 'If' we can take the lead I think that we could well go on and get that win as the longer we hold this the more you would have to push for an equaliser and this could let us in for another on the counter attack?
I think we will win, and if there is any justice we will, as we deserve something.
6. Where will your side be come the end of the season?
So long as the players give it everything, offering commitment that I cannot fault I will be proud come what may. As it is I still think that we are good enough to stay up, if this means finishing 17th that will do me!
7. Will you be happy with that?
Without a doubt, premier league survival could be so crucial to us this season as I feel by doing this we can then build for the future.
8. Who will win the Premier League?
In all honesty I do not really care, I am not overly keen on any of the 'big boys', although my youngest brother is an Arsenal fan so I have a soft spot for them, and they do play good football.
9. Who will go down?
Again in all honesty I do not really care so long as we are not one of them! I think home form for all of those down the bottom will be crucial though, and of course results against each other as I cannot really see that many 'surprises' being sprung as the season goes on and teams get stronger.
10. Final thoughts?
Good luck for the season, both as a club and on Vital Wolves - but not too much luck on the pitch at least, well not if it means we went down and you did not! Best of luck with Vital Wolves though.
Special thanks to Rug from Vital Portsmouth for taking the time and effort of answering our questions.
