Milijas to get another chance

Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy hopes Milijas time with Serbia will help him rediscover his confidence

The 26-year-old joined in the summer for £2.6million and went on to impress quickly before drifting out of the side, especially following the signing of Segundo Castillo.

But now with the international break, Milijas will be concentrating on getting his country to South Africa, as Serbia could qualify for the World Cup this week.

"He`ll be good for playing two games for Serbia. I`m sure he`ll feel a lot better about himself - we know he`s got good quality and I`d like to get him back into the team." McCarthy told the Express & Star.

Milijas has been left out of the side recently, much to the dismay of some supporters and Mick does share that frustration by adding: "We all saw his ability in pre-season, but you also have to get performances as well. If they`re playing well, they don`t get left out of the side.

He went on to add: "I took him out of the firing line a bit, because when he came here he looked terrific. He started OK but then it just didn`t seem to happen for him for whatever reason."

Vital Wolves Comment: Nenad Milijas was the player who I thought would add the quality to our side that would help us avoid relegation this season.

So far it hasn't turned out that way, but then again he does need time to settle in this country and to the Premier League and he isn't going to get that if he is left out in the cold.

So lets get him back in the side, he will come good!
